We use
www.statcounter.com to track our web traffic. It's a freebie. Most hosts have something free anyway, but this one is easier for me than the one Interland provides. I don't know how to insert the code into the website. All I know is that it's a blast to look at the report and see who's been looking at your site. It only gives town, state and country but that's still pretty cool. All of the typical stuff like which pages they cruised and how long they were on your site are tracked as well as a bunch of other stuff.
It was easy to see how much our traffic increased when we ventured into billboard advertising for the first time. People headed to the Mall of Georgia from Suwanee, Duluth, Roswell, and Alpharetta have given us some good spikes. I just want to know how somebody from India finds our site? What the heck is up with that?
